Alcala-Alcossebre Local Police identified 400 people and are processing 15 complaints for non-compliance with isolation

The Alcala-Alcossebre Local Police intensified the population controls to ensure compliance with the state and emergency rules, during Holy Week and the Easter dates.  Between the 7th and the 13th April, Local Police officers identified more than 400 citizens, both those for shopping in the two centres and those who were travelling in their vehicles, to prevent inadvisable movements, such as carrying out shopping with too much regularity.  Also, the Security Forces and Groups channelled the access and exit to Alcossebre, detaining and taking down all the vehicles which were travelling, to prove which were residents with their habitual residence in the population.  In total, they have processed 15 complaints about facts such as not complying with the regulation for one individual travelling in a vehicle, going to the beach or trying to visit friends without any of the complaints referring to people who intended passing days off in their second home.

The head of the Local Police, Abel Serret, said that “we can classify that the team rolled out  a success in trying to maintain that the minimum of people could access their second homes and I can say, with a high percentage of certainty, that we have practically achieved that Alcossebre had no  owners of second homes entering”.

The Mayor Francisco Juan emphasised “his certainty about channelling the accesses to Alcossebre and the police tasks” and insisted that “I understand that for our residents it might have resulted in a little inconvenience to have to identify themselves but we are taking these measures to guarantee the health of everyone”.
