Alcala-Alcossebre Council has approved a new bylaw for providing financial aid to promote and revitalise local business activity. They can give a boost to establishments and PYMES (Small and Medium Businesses) which have been affected by COVID-19. The objective of the bylaw is to contribute to the liquidity of local businesses and to soften the drastic reduction in income they have suffered by having to cease their activity or to see their turnover reduced. Applying this new bylaw is bound up with a new budget of 120,000 euros. The assistance which can be authorised will be 450 euros for the businesses and professionals which have had to close down due to conditions imposed by the state of emergency and 300 euros for those which have suffered a reduction of at least 75% compared with the previous half-year.
“Our intention is for assistance to be added to others already in existence, from other administrations, to provide these businesses with financial respite”, Mayor Francisco Juan explained.
The bylaw will be on public exhibition for a period of 30 days, after which it will come into force.
