Ronchera considers that the assistance for the self-employed and PYMES “is insufficient”
The socialist municipal spokesperson described as “symbolic” the assistance of 450 and 300 euros for the commercial sector
Ronchera recalled that at the last council meeting these measures were approved with the socialist group voting in favour because “we consider that all assistance for the business sector is very well received and, therefore, we could not refuse to support it. Besides with the exceptional situation in which we find ourselves, we are required, as officers in the opposition, to work in a constructive and responsible way”. “Now, we believe that this assistance is significantly insufficient because some of those benefitting cannot even pay one month’s rental for business premises in Alcossebre”, states Ronchera.
The socialist municipal spokesperson indicated that “in towns smaller than ours, in our area, they have pledged greater assistance and the Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council can also do this using the remaining funds”. Finally, Ronchera regretted that the sector was not listened to before approving this line of assistance.
It must be pointed out that the approved assistance is: 450 euros for the owners of the commercial businesses which have had to suspend opening to the public based on the emergency decree; and 300 euros for those which have suffered a reduction of at least 75% in their turnover in the month previous to the request for a grant, in relation to the average reached in the 6 months prior to the declaration of the State of Emergency.
