Ronchera assesses the first Round Table Discussion about managing the effects of the pandemic in Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre
The municipal socialist spokesperson explains that it is an initiative which the Municipal Socialist Group put forward and that “we are very satisfied” that it has been fulfilled
Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre PSPV-PSOE assessed the first Round Table Discussion which took place this week with all the municipal corporation political groups. The objective of the group is the management of the current exceptional situation caused by the State of Emergency declared due to the COVID-19 health emergency.
As Joan Ronchera, the municipal socialist spokesperson, explained, “it is an initiative which the Municipal Socialist Group put forward and we are very satisfied that it has been started because we believe that we will only win this fight if we all move together in the same direction”. “This Round Table Discussion among all the political groups in the municipal corporation aims to be a meeting point with constructive dialogue so that, all together, we can bring forward proposals to fight against the consequences of the pandemic” Ronchera points out as well, that the Table also aims for all groups to have the same information at their disposal.
At this first meeting, the socialists proposed direct assistance for people who are in an ERTE situation; to listen to the society sectors; training courses for businesses for online sales; and making material available to carry out the tasks for cognitive development for all the uses of the Respite Unit who are currently at home.
The socialist representatives were also concerned about the number of requests for extension of terraces; whether it will be possible to hold the Summer School for the young children; the possibility of having some alternative fiestas to comply with the safety measures; the protocols for the beaches and the municipal swimming pool; and the planning for the progressive return to work of the council functionaries. The Second Discussion Round Table will be held in two weeks and the business sector will be heard, as proposed by the PSOE. The governing group has promised to keep everyone informed on all the matters.
