Alcala de Xivert municipal swimming pool re-opened on 23rd June, with an anti-COVID-19 preventive protocol with which all users must comply. Among the measures they must adopt, are obligatory disinfection of feet and hands at the entrance to the facility, obligatory use of flip-flops and showering before entering the water. Each user will receive a bag at the entrance to collect the rubbish they generate and this has to be thrown away when they leave the facility and the instructions for moving through the different spaces must be respected.
Regarding cleaning the facilities, complete disinfection will be carried out every day, before each opening session. Precisely to make carrying out this work easier, the opening hours will be reduced and will be from 11.00h to 13.00h during the mornings and 16.00h to 20.00h during the afternoons.
The capacity remains limited to 72 people and will be controlled by tickets issued at the entrance showing the arrival time. Once they have been at the pool for two hours, users will have to leave the facility to let later arrivals enter. Access to the changing rooms will be limited to 30% of the original capacity (3 people per changing room) and access will only be allowed when strictly necessary. Showers in the changing rooms will not be able to be used. Users from the same household will be able to remain together in the sun-bed area up to a maximum of 4 people. If they are not from the same household, they must respect safe distancing.
Where lessons are given, that area of the swimming pool will be marked with buoys so that participants are not interfered with by other people there. The number of courses and participants has been reduced this year exactly to guarantee compliance with capacity control. The available courses are “Swimming for the elderly”, “Aquaerobics” and “Keeping Swimming” and will start from 29th June.
Sports councillor, Jordi Batiste, stated that “we hope that all users will respect the hygiene and safety measures set up because we must all be involved with maximum compliance” and he insisted that “the efforts the Council has made, with the increase in disinfection, capacity control and signage measures are to ensure that the facility is completely ready”. Batiste reminded that “the municipal pool has renovated its changing rooms and has improved access with the installation of ramps”.
