The Council presents 2,646 euros to the Alcala-Alcossebre Cancer Association

Mayor Francisco Juan and the head of Social Welfare, Marien Traver, made the presentation on 8th July to the members of the local Cancer Association’s committee from monies collected from the sale of T-shirts prepared for the celebrations of Women’s Day. In total, 2,646 euros was collected, which is a record when compared with the figures for previous years. Also, given the circumstances due to the declaration of the emergency state, the majority of the events planned to commemorate the 8th March could not take place, such as the traditional charity walk, which would have meant that the amount could have been larger.
The presentation ceremony ended with a message of thanks on behalf of the council to the artist Teresa Cucala for making and donating one of her works to illustrate the programme of events and the T-shirts. In appreciation of her altruistic gesture, she was presented with a framed copy of the programme.
