Alcala-Alcossebre Council and the Sierra d’Irta Secondary School (IES) renew an agreement for cooperation on the Shared Classroom Programme
Alcala-Alcossebre Council and the Sierra d’Irta IES signed the renewal of the agreement for cooperation in the Shared Classroom Programme (PAC) for the forthcoming 2020-2021 year following the very positive evaluation of the last year’s.
Last year they carried out different activities and workshops developing tasks such as gardening, maintenance, sports activities and professional training, among others. The Shared Classroom Programme combines the academic contents which are taught by the centre itself with the activities within and outside of the educational centre to which Alcala-Alcossebre Council is lending its cooperation. The objective of this Programme is to reduce the tendency towards school absenteeism and increase pupils’ motivation to achieve their academic and personal expectations, offering them the opportunity to reinforce their apprenticeship and to acquire social skills in an environment different from their habitual one.
The Sierra d’Irta IES evaluates the cooperation of the Council very positively, by being able to bring this type of programme to fruition, and that is why they are asking for a new renewal of it to be able to continue offering the pupils who are taking part this alternative for apprenticeship. On behalf of the Council, Education councillor, Selene Blázquez emphasised that “seeing how the programme developed throughout last year and how productive it was for the pupils, the Council wants to continue betting on this type of combined teaching”.
