Improved accessibility to the facilities of the Alcala Pensioners’ Centre

The refurbishment work at the Alcala de Xivert Pensioners’ Centre is almost ended finished, with several actions giving global improvement regarding the use and enjoyment of the building by its users.  The new work consisted of fitting out a new access from the calle Maestrat, separating the accesses to the Respite Unit and the Pensioners’ Centre which were together until now but are now divided with a separator, renewed paving and the centre’s therapeutic pool facilities, the gymnasium and the space where the chiropody and physiotherapy services are carried out have been fitted out.

The action carried out in the Centre has provided an important improvement to the outside area, with the construction of a new entrance with light on the patio, giving better natural light and converting it into a more pleasant place, the adaptation of the facilities to the accessibility regulations has been completely renewed, as well as the renewal of the electric wiring and plumbing.  Also, the whole cafeteria has been worked on, modernizing the facilities, giving them more natural light and remodelling the outside façade.

“The improvements throughout the Pensioners’ Centre and particularly in the bar area, can be clearly seen, giving new life and possibilities to this municipal building, which we hope will be welcomed not only by the members but by all the citizens”, Mayor Francisco Juan emphasised.
