Alcala-Alcossebre Council awards the preparation of the 2020-2024 Tourism Strategy Plan

Alcala-Alcossebre Council has awarded the drawing up of the 2020-2024 Tourism Strategy Plan to the Admunsen Estrategia y Comunicación S.L company.  This guarantees the continuity of work regarding the preparation and application of the previous Tourism Strategy Plan and ensures that the new action plans are put into operation, taking into account the new tourism context.

Through the new Tourism Strategy Plan, a diagnosis of the current situation will be carried out and it will set out the objectives, strategies, lines of action and prioritise actions.  As happened with drawing up the previous preparation of the Strategy Plan, which comes to an end this year, 2020, it will have an important participation process with the different agents of the tourism sector, both public and private, with interviews, group dynamics, surveys, etc.  Among the matters to be taken into account in planning this new Plan, the analysis of competitor tourist destinations will have great weight, as well as analysing the positioning of Alcala-Alcossebre in the principal tourist markets (the national market, France, United Kingdom, Germany and the rest of the European markets) and it will work in parallel with tourism products already indicated in the tourism marketing plans carried out by the Diputación Provincial, such as cycling tourism and gastronomy tourism.  It is also planned that working groups will be created which will allow tendencies in the tourism sector to be detected with the 2024 horizon set.

Tourism councillor, Selene Blázquez, said that “it is essential to continue working so that the management of municipal tourism is supported with a route based on the current time in the tourism sector and its medium- and long-term consequences”.  Blázquez remembered that “the previous Strategy Plan already defined lines of action which have been carried out such as the creation of the new tourism mark, working to make tourism less dependent on seasonal factors with the annual calendar of activities and putting value in the local monumental and architectural resources as a driving force for tourist attractions”.
