Alcala-Alcossebre Council Sports Department has already carried out various preparation tasks ready for applying the protocol for training and matches for local federated clubs which will enable spectators to have access. The protocol has already been passed to the clubs - CF Alcalà, CH Serra d’Irta and Club Bàsquet Jovens d’Alcalà – and the facilities are already completely prepared for carrying on training and for matches, coinciding with the start of the season.
The Department has installed signs so that the safe distancing and the control of numbers are complied with, establishing a distance of 2.25m between users during playing sport and 1.5 metres for spectators. The seats have been marked showing those where sitting will not be allowed and they have marked out accesses and passageways. In the Pabellón Polideportivo a maximum crowd number of 87 seats on the rows and 66 people in the standing space. Other spaces such as cloakrooms, the referee cloakroom, sick bay, canteen and bathrooms also have a controlled limited number. For the San Fernando football pitch, a number of 307 people is envisaged in the outside area and 48 people on the stand. Also, the number in the cloakrooms is limited with 30 people in the canteen, seats and bathrooms. These limits have been calculated by measuring the dimensions of all the facilities and applying the safe distances recommended to prevent the COVID-19 infection.
The protocol considers some general regulations for using the facilities, both for the sportspeople and the public, such as the mandatory use of masks, hand disinfection, restricted access to various areas of the facilities and prohibiting entrance for anyone presenting symptoms. Specific restrictions have also been established for sportspeople such as not sharing sports equipment bottles or cans, disinfecting the material after using it and hydrating and disinfecting hands every half an hour. In the case of the coaches, they must also take charge of controlling attendance at training and matches, keeping the names of attendees for 14 days.
Sports councillor, Jordi Batiste, said that “we know that it is important for competitions to take place with spectators and that the clubs can carry out their training and therefore we have made this effort. What we ask of everyone, both clubs and attendees, is that they commit to complying with all the measures for the good of everyone”.
