Alcala-Alcossebre Council is applying new actions and intensifying the Local Police presence to guarantee safe entrance and exit at educational centres
The three Alcala-Alcossebre education centres - CEIP Lo Campanar, CEIP La Mola and IES Serra d’Irta – opened their doors on 7th September on the first day of the 2020-2021 school year, in a start of the year marked by the application of measures to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. In total, 932 boys and girls are registered in the education centres.
The Education and Police Departments, cooperating with the managment teams of the schools, have coordinated a series of actions to be carried out by the Local Police, aiming to guarantee the maximum interpersonal distancing. In the CEIPs, entrance to the centres has been regulated to filtering in at different times and watching to ensure that parents and pupils respect safe distancing when coming to the centre whilst at the entrance to the IES, officers watched to ensure there was maximum use of masks.
Also, measures have been adopted to encourage safe access to the centres, such as prohibiting vehicular traffic – except to residents – in the calle Mola travelling south-north to encourage parents with families at the CEIP La Mola to arrive on foot. Also, areas where parking is prohibited have been reinforced around the CEIP Lo Campanar to give more space for pedestrian transit next to the educational centre.
Police councillor, Selene Blázquez, said that “we are intensifying the presence of Local Police at all the educational centres, at the entrance and the exit, aiming for the time tables, social distancing and the appropriate use of masks to be respected to the maximum”. Mayor Francisco Juan emphasised that “we know the great effort the education centres’ professionals are making and, on the Council, we are going to support them with all the actions which are in our power”.
