Ronchera (PSPV-PSOE) demands that the Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre PP governing team activates the plan against flooding as it is a high-risk municipality

Joan Ronchera, the Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre PSPV-PSOE leader demands that the Partido Popular “uses all its competencies at once” and “activates the Municipal Plan of Action (PAM) against flooding, as set out by the Valencian Emergency Plan to guarantee the safety of its men and women residents”.

“Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre is one of the areas in Castellón province with a high risk of flooding in the event of fierce storms and the ‘gota fria’ which, due to climate change, are becoming more and more frequent.  However, and as a clear example on the part of its mayor of not attending to his obligations, our town still has no relevant plan for evaluating the risks and the measures for them, in spite of the Municipal Socialist Group having requested it on more than a few occasions”, argued Ronchera.

The GMS leader regretted “that the PP mayor’s attitude is so unconcerned about matters of such importance, which affect the safety of people” and added that “sadly, we are already used to this deplorable mood when during the summer he was not concerned in the least about rectifying the deficiencies when their own team said that the rescue service on the local beaches showed them”.
