On Wednesday 30th September Alcala-Alcossebre Council held an ordinary council meeting in which a member of the Partido Popular, Melina Fradejas, took possession of her post and will lead the Social Welfare, Equality, Health and Citizen Participation departments.
During the meeting a credit modification was approved to use the balance and through which two investments will be financed. The first will be 35,000 euros to carry out the work on the sewage network in the Alcossebre Las Fuentes urbanisation and the second will be used to create a green area in the station road, a project with a budget of 205,000 euros.
The PSOE spokesperson, Joan Ronchera, said that “we support all improvements, the projects seem interesting to us but in the case of the green area we do not believe that the place is suitable because it floods”. For their part, the Compromis spokesperson, Maria Sorlí, was in favour of the proposal confirming that “it is without a doubt the image of the town” and also wanted “to know whether we can participate bringing ideas to focus on we are going to live together within this space”.
The PP spokesperson, María Agut, explained that “there will be areas for children, vegetation, picnics, healthy fitness equipment, spaces for animals”, adding that “without doubt, it will give much life to the area”, considering that this type of public spaces is becoming more and more important for the citizens. The mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, added that “it is a space which provides many possibilities, and is something which is asked for a lot”, he ended.
Finally, the matter was carried with the PSOE abstaining and the rest of the municipal groups in favour.
