Alcala-Alcossebre to have a Municipal Plan against Domestic Abuse

Alcala-Alcossebre Council is working on drawing up a new Municipal Plan against Domestic Abuse, within the actions developed by the Equality Department.  This plan will analyse all the parameters which have occurred locally to establish how many cases of domestic abuse there have been in the municipality since 2019 and what type of attention they received in the associated municipal departments – Social Services, Equality Officer and Local Police -, what protocols were applied, how many women came from the 24 hours Centre or other services in the Generalitat Valenciana or Ministry.  They will also express all the actions carried out on equality and prevention of domestic abuse matters by the Council, like specific attention via groups of victims or the application of the VIOGEN protocol, coordinated through the Local Police and Guardia Civil to attend, identify the level and carry out follow-ups with the victims.

“The aim is that, with all the information we have available about domestic abuse, we can carry out new more specific actions which might have a bearing on preventing and raising people’s awareness to continue fighting against domestic abuse in all its manifestations, Melina Fradejas, Equality councillor explained.  “The same as the Municipal Equality Plan, this new Plan could be very useful when planning activities and improve the attention on such a sensitive group as the victims of domestic violence”.
