Alcala-Alcossebre Council has taken delivery of two pictures by Zakaria, a young man of Maghrebi origin resident in the municipality, as part of the initiative “Painting through migrant eyes”. This intercultural initiative is being developed by the Social Welfare Department through the Oficina Pangea, with the aim of motivating the young people of the immigrant group to express themselves and demonstrate their enthusiasms and talents. Through painting, they show their form of adaptation and integration using their painting talent as one more citizen in the municipality. The pictures reflect the mixed migration theme with other indications in the Alcala de Xivert municipality.
The Social Welfare councillor, Melina Fradejas, received the pictures pointing out “the great work of the Oficina Pangea in all the integration projects which the Council is developing! And valuing “the effort and involvement of the young people who have taken part in this initiative”.
