Alcala-Alcossebre Council will create a committee to monitor the network renovation works proposed in the Management Plan for Municipal Drainage. There will be representatives from all the municipal groups on the committee and it will have advice from specialist experts.
During 2021, municipal funds remaining in the treasury will be used to carry out new works and additional assistance will be sought from other administrations. The Mayor Francisco Juan said that “At the time, we bet on carrying out important work to renew the drinking water network and, currently, we can say that it is completely modernised and has all the technical advances. Our task is to continue complying with the aims set out in the Drainage Plan, as shown in that, since 2017, we have not stopped carrying out drainage works, but it is necessary to seek support from other administrations, via lines of assistance and specific works, in order to develop them in the shortest time possible”.
Since 2017, the Council has carried out a total of 19 renovation works to the drainage network, of which 9 were expressly part of the Plan, such as the renovation in the Urbanización Marcolina, improvement of the separate networks in the plaza Constitución, various works in the Las Fuentes area, improved water collection in the plaza Juan Vilanova and the calle La Foia, renewal of the network in the calle Coll and the installation of a new collector in the calle Jai Alai. It is planned that a start will be made shortly on another work on a section parallel to the paseo Las Fuentes.
The Mayor pointed out that “we are talking of a very important infrastructure which will need big investment valued by the Management Plan at 15 million euros, which we think all the municipal groups must know how to plan and manage the resources for it, always seeking the maximum transparency and information for the whole corporation”.
