Ronchera demands information about the traffic circulation in the centre of Alcossebre

Joan Ronchera, the socialist spokesperson, has asked the governing group for information on the plan for re-establishing traffic circulation  in the centre of Alcossebre and the consequent signage.  As Ronchera explains, the modifications to the traffic circulation map in the town were introduced in the summer to guarantee safety within the protection plan against COVID-19.

However, the plan was to continue re-establishing the traffic in a progressive way from the 25th September but there is still nothing being done and this situation, according to Ronchera, is provoking, “a state of insecurity in drivers travelling through Alcossebre”.

Among the measures which were adopted were the pedestrianisation of the centre and the setting up of a one-way direction in the Avenida Valencia.  “However, it was to be progressively returned from the 25th September, but we are already in November and there has still been no change to the circulation in those streets which underwent changes”, and this is generating “noticeable confusion” adds Ronchera.

On the other hand, the socialist spokesperson points out that, in addition, “you must add that, for too long, the centre of Alcossebre presents an urban landscape full of covered signs and retains the inactive summer’s horizontal signage, for example, the calle San Benedicto continues as a painted green zone and a crossed-out blue zone when it should be painted white, like the rest of the adjacent streets in the town centre where there is still the blue zone signage which was set up”.
