Alcala-Alcossebre Council meeting is asking the Government, via an institutional declaration, to apply a type of super-reduction in VAT of 4% on all masks – and not only the surgical ones, as was approved recently -. In the motion’s text, presented by the Partido Popular, it was pointed out that “the use of masks has become essential and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future so that they should be considered as an essential item”. It is calculated that a family of four members, would incur a monthly cost of 240 euros for this protection material.
With votes in favour from the Partido Popular and Ciudadanos, the meeting also approved a motion presented by the municipal Ciudadanos group asking the Generalitat Valenciana for different measures to improve the welfare service in Primary Attention in order to reduce the overloading of health staff, guaranteeing a minimum of ten minutes for a consultation meeting, to boost telemedicine in public health, reopening closed auxiliary surgeries and carrying out a study of the needs for home help services, among others.
