Progress with the Revitalisation Plan – REVIU Alcala de Xivert
The company in charge of drawing up the Revitalisation Plan – REVIU Alcala de Xivert – is carrying out a complete study of the local demographic and urban evolution, aiming to obtain a complete radiograph of the Alcala nucleus, thus making it possible to determine the actions to be applied for its social and economic boost. Those carrying out the work are basing it on official sources (PGOU, land registry, historic photos, etc.) completing the information with more specific facts such as urban licenses, refurbishment of facades registers and vehicles registered. Financial resources are also being studied with those on which the nucleus of Alcala counts, such as the El Campaner industrial estate, the existing commercial fabric and the tourism potential linked to the historic and natural heritage and the municipal infrastructures and services are being analysed, determining that there is a large offer of facilities and a deficit in green areas – which will be resolved with the construction of the new park and wellbeing space in the camino Ferrocarril.
Progress with drawing up the REVIU will continue with participation tools, so that local associations, resident men and women and municipal groups can express their needs and suggestions. It is forecast that the plan could be finished in the middle of the year and will enable it to go on applying the measures it proposes.
Mayor Francisco Juan and the Town Planning councillor, Miguel Martorell, met recently with the specialists working on it emphasising that “it is essential to obtain the involvement of other administrations so that all the forecast measures can be progressively applied”.
