The Alcala and Alcossebre municipal Libraries are continuing the book lending service, in spite of being closed like the rest of the municipal buildings until the 2nd February, following the Council decree to prevent COVID-19 infection. The lending service is available in the Alcala Library on Mondays from 11am to 1pm and Wednesdays from 4pm to 6pm. In the Alcossebre Library, the service is available on Tuesdays from 11am to 1pm and on Thursdays from 4pm to 6pm. Borrowers can collect and return copies in this way.
Also, in case they cannot leave their homes for health reasons, borrowers can contact the Libraries by telephone (Alcalà: 964 15 00 80 and Alcossebre: 964 41 42 26) and they will be sent their books at home. As happened before during the lockdown, used books are isolated and the corresponding hygiene measures are taken.
Culture councillor, María Agut, said that “we hope that the health situation will improve and that the Libraries will be able to open their facilities again but, in the meantime, we are working and making tools available so that borrowers can continue borrowing books”.
