Alcala-Alcossebre Council is extending the closure of facilities and ceasing municipal activities by one week
Alcala-Alcossebre Council is extending by a further week the Mayor’s 19th January decree which suspended municipal activities and the closure of municipal buildings for two weeks as measures to slow down the COVID-19 infection. This meant that the CESAL in Alcalà and CESAL in Alcossebre, Pensioners’ centres, Espai d’Oci, Casa de la Cultura, municipal buildings which are used by associations, municipal sports facilities including municipal gymnasiums, the Unitat de Respir Familiar, children’s parks, dog parks and recreation areas and the Santa Lucía Ethnological Information Centre would be closed. Services for the public in the Council, Municipal Offices, Social Services and the Local Police squad will be maintained with a prior appointment.
“Although the evolution in the rate of infection is clearly getting less, we are backing extending the closure of facilities for a further week as a cautious start”, Mayor Francisco Juan confirmed. The measure was taken today in the Discussion Meeting in which all the municipal groups take part and deal with matters related to the management of the pandemic at a municipal level.
At the time when the closure was decreed, the locality had an incidence of 1,092 for every 100,000 inhabitants, reaching a maximum peak of 1,362 on the 26th January. According to the updated data made public today by the Health Conselleria, the incidence has dropped to 568 per 100,000 inhabitants.
