Alcala-Alcossebre Council has cleaned the surroundings of the Prigó del Rey, the obelisk which commemorates the visit of king Carlos IV to the locality in 1804, to go hunting. The work, in the charge of the Services and Environment Department, consisted of removing the brush and preparing the accesses and the surroundings of the monument and installing two benches, creating a rest area and small viewpoint which incorporates new vegetation.
The Services councillor, Juan Carlos Barceló, emphasised that “the Prigó del Rey is a space much loved by the municipality and with this work we are helping make it an agreeable place to visit” and he made a request insisting that “all those who visit it, take care of the surroundings and respect it”.
