Alcala-Alcossebre Council is not extending the decree closing municipal facilities

The important reduction in the number of COVID-19 infections registered in Alcala-Alcossebre has motivated the Council to resume municipal activities and re-open municipal buildings affected by the closure decree which came into force on 19th January and which was extended to Tuesday, 9th February.  According to the data made public on 9th February by the Health Department, there have been 19 positive cases detected in the last 14 days and the rate is now 284 per 100,000 inhabitants, much lower than the 1,092 which was recorded on the 19th January and the peak with a maximum of 1,362 on the 26th January.  Also, the  Council maintained direct contact with the health authorities who confirm that COVID-19 cases in the municipality is clearly dropping.  The municipal gymnasiums and sports facilities will not re-open and sports activities will not start again because of the closures decreed by the Generalitat Valenciana which are in force to the 15th February.

In parallel to the application of the closure decree, the presence of the Local Police and the Guardia Civil is intensified, as well as the protocols for disinfecting public spaces.  The council is urging that “in every case, when going to the municipal buildings or taking part in municipal activities caution must be observed and the measures must be respected, to continue to reduce the infection”.
