The Council and the Alcala-Alcossebre Business Association are working to set up the Digital Commercial Centre

The Alcala-Alcossebre Business Association has presented its annual management report to the Council, with the collection of its main actions. In a year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, the body assesses that “2020 has been the year of our greatest growth regarding the number of members, showing that mobilisation acquires an important role in complicated times such as we are living through”, the group’s president, Jesús Sanmartín, noted and urged that “we must give value to the strength of our group and the constant collaboration we receive from the Council, enabling us to obtain positive results”. Regarding the actions developed, the group emphasises the good results obtained in the campaign against ‘blanket top selling’ carried out in cooperation with the Council; the management and spreading of the training initiatives in the CdT-Castello, with the association forming part of its guiding advice; visibility campaigns and recognition for local businesses and initiatives related to improving training and competitivity, in collaboration with training centres. At the start of 2021, the principal task for the group on which they are already working together with the Council, is to set up the Alcala-Alcossebre digital commercial centre, which is open and a shop-window, sales platform for booking accommodation and restaurants, sales point for tickets for events, etc. After having held open information meetings, the website design is being carried out and set in motion by a specialist company. Mayor Francisco Juan pointed out that “this project is going to be an opportunity so that any business in our town can be visible via Internet and above all increase its public potential through a sales channel open to the whole world. It is a project we believe in firmly and which is not going to be left only as a website but also which we shall support for businesses in order that they can be involved at no charge to them”.
Juan valued very positively “the great involvement and activity which the Business Association is developing, which goes together with a competitive business field and boosts the local economy”.
