Alcala-Alcossebre deploys a special vehicle control team for the San José and Holy Week weekend holidays

[Img #81596]Alcala-Alcossebre Council is coordinating a special team, made up from the Guardia Civil and the Local Police, to prevent vehicles from territories outside the municipality from entering the Valencian Community, in compliance with the perimeter confinement imposed by the autonomous regulations to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  From Thursday, 18th March, there will be controls at the accesses to the Alcossebre nucleus and vehicles will be stopped, requesting the corresponding documentation, for proof that non-residents in the Valencian Community are travelling there.  The team will repeat the exercise during the following weekends: 25th and 26th March and 31st March and 1st April.  The fines which people could face who do not comply with the regulations range from 100 to 600,000 euros depending on the seriousness and reiteration.

Mayor Francisco Juan has insisted that “Visitors have always been welcomed in our municipality but now is the time to continue respecting the regulations and compliance with them and to wait until the health situation has improved to allow travelling”.  Juan thanked “the cooperation existing between the Guardia Civil and Local Police which lets us focus the resources on this type of control actions”.
