Alcala-Alcossebre Department for Youth opens the municipal Youth Information Point
Alcala-Alcossebre Department for Youth opens the municipal Youth Information Point (PIJ) located in Alcala Council. Through Youth Technology, the PIJ is a free public service which provides information on matters of interest to young people. It is an open space responding to the needs of young people, bringing information and assessment on any matter related to management with administration, initiatives and the rights of young men and women.
Among its functions are: compiling information generated in the municipality on youth material, detecting the needs and requests of local youth groups, attending personally to the young people in their consultations and information requests and the assessment and spreading of the information, promoting participation and encouraging youth activities in educational leisure.
Regarding the processes which are carried out there are offers of management courses, subsidies and grants, promoting associationism and citizen participation, volunteer actions, information and education orientation, programmes for Juvenile Guarantee and the Youth card process.
Youth councillor, Jordi Batiste, encouraged “young people in the municipality to take advantage of this information resource and assessment, bringing them close to the initiatives being focussed on them not only at a municipal level”.
