Alcala-Alcossebre Council increases investments in improving rural roads

[Img #81872]Alcala-Alcossebre Council approved expenditure of 60,000 euros from treasury balances to increase the investment planned for the improvement of rural roads.  In this way, a total of 100,000 euros will be spent on refurbishment and improvement of the Frares, Sant Miquel, Estopet and Cervera roads, with works for asphalt and concrete surfaces.  These roads give direct access to agricultural areas and cattle sheds and are therefore used a lot.  Due to the rain and run-off from the fields, they become rutted and are repaired in a timely way by putting aggregates down but this is not enough to guarantee an optimum state and a more permanent treatment is necessary which will be carried out.

The council initially thought about an investment of 40,000 euros in the 2021 budget, corresponding to the Castellón Diputación Plan for the Coordination of Works and Services, and this corresponded to the Frares and Sant Miquel roads.  This action has now increased the amount by 60,000 euros.

Agricultural councillor, Juan Carlos Barceló, has indicated that “the decision to take action and on which roads is made through contact with the members of the Consell Local Agrari and then for the municipality to check on the condition, with the aim of making these actions as useful as possible”.
