Alcala-Alcossebre Council improves and increases public lighting in seven different places in the municipality

Alcala-Alcossebre has just initiated new illumination for lighting in seven public places in the municipality, aiming for brightness, safety and saving energy as the devices and new lights use LED technology.  “On the one hand we are giving greater enhancement and brilliance to monuments and iconic places in our municipality and also improving illumination in certain areas so that they can be passed through more safely”, Town Planning councillor, José Miguel Martorell, explained.

In fact, work has been carried out on the roundabout at the south entrance to Alcala, installing an LED line around the stone surface and giving more prominence to the dry stone material.  In the plaza Juan Vilanova the installation of the existing lighting in the square has been improved and strips of LED lighting have been installed around the perimeter, on the dry stone benches, emphasising the uniqueness of this material faced with the ceramic floor.  Lighting has also been installed between the metal strips of the pergola which exists in the square.  Another unique building is the Pomple Well (Pou del Pomple), in the calle Doctor Ebri, has been highlighted clearing the area and installing a specific lineal projector for the illumination of monuments.

Regarding improvements to illumination, the lights have been renewed in the entrance to the municipality from the calle Tremedal, substituting the seven existing lamps with a type of lamp already existing in other parts of the municipality to improve the illumination at the entrance.  In the camino San Miguel, four lights have been added to those already there bringing greater safety to the area which is used a lot, as it leads to the sports area, municipal gymnasium and Pabellón Polideportivo.  In Alcossebre, new lighting has been installed in the pedestrian street leading to the Cargador beach and a new lamp has been added in the calle Bovalar,
