Alcala-Alcossebre Council awards the contract for adapting and extending the La Mola Primary School

Alcala-Alcossebre Council has awarded the contract, through an open process, for the services for technical assistance to draw up the geotechnical study, the basic project and the execution, direction of work and supervision for the adaptation and extension and rainwater drainage for the La Mola Primary School. These sections have been divided into two batches: the first batch, which includes the technical assistance for the works, drawing up the project and direction of the work has been awarded to the business Sanahuja Asociados Arquitectura SLP, for an amount of 128,749.15 euros. The second batch, which includes the supervision of the project has been awarded to Idom Consulting Engineering Architecture for 8,076.52 euros. The total cost of the awarding of these services amounts to 136,524.67 euros which is a big reduction from the budget for the tender which amounted to 223,534 euros. In fact, the reduction presented by the winning company for the first batch was 40% less than the tender budget.
The processes for this tender started last 30th October and were delayed due to the recourse to the files for the tender by an architectural professional. The Central Administrative Tribunal for Contractual Recourses passed judgement on the 5th March last and rejected the recourse and the Council prioritised finalising the process and carried out the adjudication. “It deals with a long process with many steps and, therefore, the instruction which the municipal engineers have is to cover all the stages with speed as extending and refurbishing the La Mola Primary School as soon as possible is essential for our town”, Mayor Francisco Juan said.
The total cost for the investment involved in extending the educational centre amounts to 3.4 million euros and corresponds to the Generalitat Valenciana, through the Building Plan, although it is the council which has carried out all the processes, such as in this case, the technical assistance and preparation of the project.
