The “Good for you, Good for the town” campaign starts which promotes local business in Alcala-Alcossebre
Until 31st May, residents will be able to spend the 5-euro vouchers which they have for spending in local shops

The “Bo per a tu, bo per al poble” campaign, set up by Alcala-Alcossebre Council to provide financial assistance both for families and local businesses, started on 26th April. Following the staggered distribution of the vouchers during the previous week, it is still possible this week to collect them from the Alcala Council and the Alcossebre Municipal Offices. In total, 4,158 people have already collected their vouchers. The Council had planned to distribute a total of 14,000 vouchers for 5 euros among the 7,000 registered residents. The Council has allocated 70,000 euros for this initiative, which is direct aid for residents, and will double its effect, reaching 140,000 euros among the businesses.
Residents can pay with the vouchers until 31st May for a minimum purchase of 10 euros, with the resident adding another 5 euros at the time of using it. For each purchase, they can use the vouchers as they choose – adding together all a family’s vouchers, for example – always bearing in mind that for every 5-euro voucher used, the buyer will have to add another 5 euros. The establishments taking part will have a poster and the list can also be found on the municipal web.
Mayor Francisco Juan expressed his satisfaction “at being a municipality which supports this type of initiative, assisting families with their day to day expenses, incentivising consumption and empowering local business, and which at the same time, is an injection for the local economy at all its levels” and insisted that “we are in a complicated financial situation and it is necessary for us to involve everyone in order to move forward”.
