Alcala-Alcossebre Local Police publishes a “Practical Manual against school harassment” to assist families and education centres

It will be announced in two informative talks open to the public to be held on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th May in the CESAL buildings in Alcala and Alcossebre, and attendance will be through previous registering

[Img #82033]Through the Local Police Minors Unit, Alcala-Alcossebre Council has published a ‘Practical Manual against school harassment’ in which they bring together information and advice on how to behave when faced with this type of conflict both in the school environment and in family homes.  The manual deals with aspects as relevant as how to know how to detect when harassment is occurring, because there are children who harass others, how to discover whether a boy or girl is being a victim of mistreatment and what can be done about it and what the parents can do if they think that their children are the ones who are harassing.  Also, they are trying to discount a series of false beliefs that exist around school mistreatment and which, according to the specialists, must be demystified and phone lines are being made available to help with school harassment.

 

This manual arose from actions such as talks and preventive actions to avoid school harassment developed by the Alcala-Alcossebre Local Police, and it will be distributed in the education centres and be available for interested families from the Local Police.  Two talks on Thursday, 6th May, at 19.30h in the Alcala CESAL, and on Friday, 7th May, at 19.30h in the Alcossebre CESAL, will announce the manual and deal with the subject.  Those interested in participating must sign up using the online form ( formulario online ).

 

Education and Police councillor, Selene Blázquez, emphasised that we wanted to take advantage of the International Day against school harassment being commemorated on 2nd May and introduce this manual and facilitate what tools there are against this type of behaviour for families and the education centres”.
