Alcala-Alcossebre renews the five blue flags for its beaches and coastal walkway
The Cargador, Romana, Moro and Manyetes beaches have again proved their environmental value, quality of the water and services, making the municipality the most recognised in the Baix Maestrat
For another year, the Alcossebre beaches – Cargador, Romana, Moro and Manyetes – have renewed the four blue flags awarded by the Environmental Education Foundation (FEE) through the ADEAC (Association for Environmental Education and the Consumer). This award is an international emblem which recognises the high quality of the water, as well as the effort, public and by the citizens, to comply with the criteria demanded for legality, accessibility, health, environmental education, cleanliness and quality of the beaches. The Cargador, Romana, Manyetes and Moro beaches have renewed the emblem, placing the locality for another year among the most awarded in the province and the most awarded municipality in the Baix Maestrat. These four blue flags are joined by that for the Coastal Walkway which links the Cargador and Romana beaches, recognised for its environmental diversity.
Mayor Francisco Juan emphasised that “we make a great effort to continue to prove the high quality of the water on our beaches, as well as ensuring their services and infrastructures and more so in the context of the current health situation. As we always say, we are a privileged municipality with a coast which, each year, receives this recognition for its good management and environmental quality”.
