Alcala-Alcossebre takes its wide selection of tourist activities to Fitur 2021

Tourism councillor, Selene Blázquez, takes advantage to finalise actions related to family tourism, the package of the tourist offers and the reserve driver and cycling as a new focus of attraction.

Alcala-Alcossebre is present at Fitur 2021, which is being held at the moment in Madrid, with the aim of spreading the wide range of complementary offers of activities organised by the Tourism Department, completing the extensive offer of sun and sand with quality contrasted through recognition such as the five blue flags for beaches and the Shore Walkway.  From this May and up to December, visitors will be able to take part in more than 80 different events which have as their common denominator, making known and enjoying the extensive historic and natural heritage of the locality.  New this year is the addition of a new guided tour, The Poetic Heritage, through texts and readings, it is a tour through the local historic centre and continues backing the gastronomy with “October, Month of the Hanging Tomato”.  The activities include proposals like the dramatized routes in the Xivert castle, the Templar Heritage guided route through the historic part of Alcala which includes the visit to the bell tower and the Alcala church, competitive family games, local cycling and walking tourism, located in parishes such as the Font de la Parra, Capicorb, the Campanilles peak, Torre Ebrí and the Santa Lucía hermitage.  Activities related to the heritage can be completed with the visit to the Santa Lucía Ethnological Information Centre or the Alcala Museum Collection, in which information is brought together on the local archaeological finds.

On the first day of Fitur, the Tourism Department described actions to reactivate the reserves engine and packaging of the tourist offer, to continue adding different awards for family tourism and increasing the tourist offer with actions related to cycling.  The possible roll-out of tourism sustainability plans was also dealt with.

Selene Blázquez emphasised that “this year’s Fitur is a way of continuing to make our presence visible as a tourist destination within the Castellón province stand, but also directs us to new actions and tasks the health situation has unveiled as priorities, such as actions related to sustainability and intelligent tourist destinations”
