The CCTV network in Alcala and Alcossebre is enlarged
Eight new cameras will be placed in four positions and the action will be used both for watching the traffic and for guaranteeing safety and preventing vandalism acts

Alcala-Alcossebre Council will increase the CCTV camera network in different parts of the municipality, with the purchase of new equipment using funds from the balance in the treasury. In total, eight new cameras in four places: the Espai d’Oci building and Casal Jove in Alcossebre (currently under construction), the new park and green area in Alcala, the crossroads between the calle Alcala and calle Rench in Alcossebre and in the calle General Cucala in Alcala. This action is included in the Alcala-Alcossebre Council and Local Police’s policy to use this type of device both for watching the traffic movement and to guarantee safety and prevent acts of vandalism to urban benches, street lamps, etc. and municipal installations. In the case of traffic, cameras have been installed in free public car parks, accesses and central streets. The cameras are connected to the Local Police centre, which is where the corresponding vigilance task takes place. With these new cameras, there will now be 34 devices in the municipality’s streets.
Local Police chief, Abel Serret, explained that “From both the Local Police and the Guardia Civil Headquarters, we consider that this action is important support when watching over safety in our municipality”.
Mayor Francisco Juan indicated that “the safer our streets are, the more tranquil our residents will be, always complying with all the legal conditions which this type of device brings with it”.
