Preparation of the project to extend the La Mola School in Alcossebre goes ahead
The Council has awarded the drafting and supervision of the project and the experts have already collected the proposals from the education community and the council such as the inclusion of a classroom for 2- to 3-year-olds.

Following the awarding of the drafting of the geotechnical study, basic project and execution and technical assistance for supervision on behalf of the Alcala-Alcossebre Council, the selected companies are fully into drawing up the project for the preparation, extension and reorganisation of the La Mola School in Alcossebre. Basing it on the existing pre-project, the technical team of editors is working on the project for the work, taking into account the proposals from the education community which have been passed on, such as substituting the concrete materials for grass in certain places in the building, a change in the distribution in the kitchen and changes to an access ramp. From the Education Department, there was a proposal that the project should also include a classroom suitable for 2- to 3-year-olds.
Education councillor, Selene Blázquez, explained that “our aim is for the extension to make the centre the most efficient and useful building possible, which could adapt to the educational needs which continue arising” and emphasised that “following all the processes which a project with these characteristics brings with it, it is hoped that the work can start in 2022”. It is planned that whilst the work lasts, the prefabricated classrooms will be located in the centre.
In total, the refurbishment and extension of the La Mola School in Alcossebre will be an investment of 3.4 million euros paid for by the Generalitat Valenciana, as part of the Plan Edificant, although the council will be in charge of all the process: drafting of the pre-project, drafting of the project, construction, etc. with all the processes for the tenders, contracts and supervision of the work.
