The Council asks that the 0-2 year-olds classroom in the Alcossebre Infant School, should become for 1-2 year-olds
The process must have the green light from the Generalitat Valenciana and be carried with the aim of increasing the ratio and could provide a place for a greater number of pupils in this section.
This week aid will be processed for the Generalitat Valenciana Infant Voucher which families can receive

On 5th July with a council meeting agreement, Alcala-Alcossebre Council asked, for the change of profile for the 0–2-year-olds classroom in the Alcossebre Infant School so that it can be for 1–2-year-olds. This change would mean modifying the agreement signed between the Council and the Generalitat Valenciana, approved by the meeting in July 2020, for the creation of the Alcossebre Infant School. If the Education Department authorises this modification, it would mean that all the families in the 1-2 years section which have asked to be registered would obtain a place, including the 6 pupils who did not get one in the first phase of admission according to the assessment carried out with the criteria of the Generalitat Valenciana,.
Regarding the 0-1 group, which would remain excluded, two requests were from unborn children, one would be 1 in January, so that he will have a place, and only one family would remain excluded. As was explained at the meeting, Education councillor, Selene Blázquez, said that “following speaking to the families and seeing the actual situations, we believe that this is the solution which will affect the lowest number of families and the one which is best suited to their needs”. This modification would be maintained until it becomes possible to have a 2-3 years-old classroom in the La Mola Infants & Primary school.
Regarding the 2–3-year-olds group, as the Council has asked for an increase in the ratio of 10% contemplated in the regulation, all the pupils who live in Alcossebre who have requested a place (17) have obtained one.
This week, the families of the registered pupils will be able to process the aid for the Generalitat Valenciana’s Infant Voucher and will be given information and support by the Council. The families are being contacted by telephone, and from Tuesday, 6th July, the documentation can be delivered to the Municipal Offices in Alcossebre.
Having held an urgent extraordinary meeting in which this modification was approved, another urgent meeting was held, requested by the Compromis and PSOE municipal groups, about the actions carried out by the Council in the Infant School and the CEIP La Mola classroom for 2–3-year-olds.
