Work is about to be completed on the new Espai d’Oci and Casal Jove in Alcossebre
During August, the work will be focussed on the inside of the building and it is calculated that the building could be functional in December

The new municipal Espai d’Oci and Casal Jove building in Alcossebre is on the home straight of its construction. This new facility, situated on calle Bedoll, has a constructed area of over 1,400 sq. m. and on the ground floor will accommodate a large diaphanous space, with room for storing a mobile stage and the possibility of adapting it to current needs when holding different types of events. On the first floor, there will be an office and multi-purpose rooms for the Casal Jove. Around the outside of the building there will be vehicle parking spaces.
The building already has the cover installed and all the enclosures completed, the outside metal joinery and sheeting have been installed. Inside, the toilets already have their panelling installed and the rooms have their Pladur areas finished. Acoustic insulation has already been installed on the ceiling and the walls. During August, the works are being centred on the inside of the building, so that neighbours are not disturbed and it is planned that the work could be finished in December.
In addition, the Council has given a sum of 25,000 euros for the purchase of play and learning material and entertainment in the Casal Jove, including board games, games of skill, IT material, screens, loudspeakers, etc., as required by the municipal Youth expert.
Mayor Francisco Juan has shown his confidence in it, as “happened with the Alcala Espai d’Oci, it is a building much appreciated by the local associations and the people generally, for various different events such as pupil festivals, congresses, cultural events, etc.”
