Hotel occupation in Alcala and Alcossebre in the first fortnight of July this year was higher than in 2011

Figures registered in the Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Tourist Offices are positive at the start of this summer.  Hotel occupation has risen 4% in the first fortnight of July compared with the same period last year.
These figures complement those shown by the number of enquiries being made at the different tourist offices and information points in the municipality.  In the first two weeks of July, more than four thousand enquiries were made at the town’s various tourist offices.  Hundreds of people have also taken part in the guided tours organised by the Council every Thursday.  These tours take place in the church of Saint John the Baptist in Alcala, the Bell Tower next to it and the Xivert Castle.
Alcala and Alcossebre continue to be attractive destinations for national and foreign tourists.  The Spanish tourists visiting the town in the first fortnight of July were mainly from Valencia, Madrid and the Basque provinces.  The majority of foreign visitors were French and English.  Finland and Norway were also well represented at the start of the summer season.
