Alcossebre
The Diputación is investing 17,458 euros to improve safety on the CV-142 road at the entrance to Alcossebre
The work has involved repainting and signage on the road, which had deteriorated due to traffic and the weather. Francisco Martínez: “This work is a priority, particularly with the more distant towns with poorer communications”.
The Castellón Diputación is working to
improve safety on the roads in the province, a plan through which the 17,458
euros have been invested to improve the CV-142 in the section where it gives
access to Alcossebre, in Alcala de Xivert.
Having inspected the work, the
Infrastructures provincial vicepresident, Francisco Martinez, pointed out “the importance of this repainting work and
signage on the road to improve the security on this section which gives access
to a busy tourist area”. The work
was also inspected by the local mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, the provincial
deputy.
The work, which is included in the contract
for conservation, repairs and modernisation of the network of roads in the
Province, consisted of repainting the current road markings between P.K.0+000
and P.K.2+450, worn away by the weather and by deterioration caused by the
traffic (also crossings, kerbs and islands at the intermediate intersections).
Improving
maintenance and the road network
This work confirms the Diputacion’s support
by increasing the 2013 budget by 50% for the maintenance, conservation and
improvements of the province’s roads, up to a total of three million euros.
And, as Martínez confirmed, “improving road communications is a
priority, particularly in the more distant towns with poorer
communications. In fact, the budget for
2013 includes 600,000 euros for new work on the roads”.
