Alcalà de Xivert
New premises for the Club Muntanyec Serra d’Irta and the Club Btt Serra d’Irta
Last December
the Alcala de Xivert council ceded premises to various local associations,
among them the Club Muntanyec Serra d’Irta and the Club Ciclista Xivertense Btt
Serra d’Irta.
Now both clubs
have had the official opening, after restoration work has been carried out to
the premises, creating two meeting rooms and storage for their equipment, a
bathroom and an area for cleaning the bicycles.
Councillors
Joanba Herrera and Pascual Herrera attended the opening. The head of the Sports Department said that “we
have been able to fulfil one of the great needs in making this space
available”.
From the clubs,
their chairmen, Guillermo Gran and José Manuel Casanova, thanked the council
for granting them the premises and for their help in restoring them. Guillermo Gran pointed out that “For us,
having these premises is everything, with the meeting room and the workshop
where all our members can maintain their bikes”.
